FAQ

COURSES AND CERTIFICATION

What requirements must applicants for your 200-hour yoga teacher training course possess?  Am I good enough for doing the yoga teacher training course?
Since our yoga teacher training course can be fairly demanding, and assumes a strong background knowledge of yoga, we ask that all applicants have been engaged in consistent yoga practice (or a similar physical activity such as martial arts) for at least 3 months prior to starting the course. However, we don’t demand that you already be a yoga expert- as long as you have a passion for yoga, and the drive to see the course through to the end, we will be happy to welcome you in.

Am I ready for yoga teacher training? How much experience in yoga do I need to have?
Our courses are fit for all levels. Some students come with no experience at all, others have been practicing yoga for years. Our teachers will help you on your learning journey whatever your experience is. You just need to come with your open mind and a big appetite for learning and growing!

How intensive is this course? Will I have much time off to see the sights?
We know that it can be expensive to take an extended trip abroad, so we try to get our students through our courses in as little time as possible. That means that we take one day off per week, with the other six dedicated to your lessons. While you can use these days for sightseeing, we recommend you arrive early if you wish to take any extensive trips away from the school.

What are the benefits of doing the yoga teacher training?
You will learn the foundations of yoga: its technique, practice and philosophy.  Beyond the physical aspects of yoga, you will truly learn and live the philosophy, mentality, and spirituality underlying yoga. You will spend a magic time in India, focusing 100% in your learning journey. And the cost of trip & course is far cheaper than any teacher training course in the Western world. Doesn’t it sound like a good plan? 🙂

What is the yoga teacher training like? What subjects do you cover in the Yoga Teacher Training Courses?

The main subjects are: Ashtanga Yoga / Vinyasa Yoga / Shatkarma (Cleansing Process)  / Pranayama (Breathing Techniques) / Yoga Anatomy & Physiology / Yoga Philosophy/ Chanting / Meditation.

HEALTHY & SAFETY IN INDIA

Is India a safe country to travel? Is it safe for women?
Don’t worry! Despite the bad reputation that India could get sometimes through the news, India has an extremely low crime rate and it is one of the happiest country in the world. Goa and Rishikesh are holy cities, less crowded and with less of the poverty you might see in other bigger cities.

Drinking water in India: is it safe?
Most of the country groundwater is unfit to drink, so our strong recommendation is to only drink filtered water and bottled water. At the school we offer bottled water to drink and all of our food and vegetables are washed and cooked with purified water, so you should not worry at all. If you go to any cafe or restaurant, we suggest to ask the staff if they use filtered water for ice and drinks.

Do I need to get any vaccines? And any medicines?
Our recommendation is that you ask your doctor what vaccines and medicines you need based on where you are going, how long you are staying and what you will be doing.
Referring medicines, this is up to you. All main and touristic cities in India, including Rishikesh and Goa, have a good amount of pharmacies, chemists and drugstores which are used to treat typical tourist issues, like diarrhea.
