Nepali Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari said the New Pokhara International Airport is under construction. The work will be expected to complete within a year by July 2021. The Pokhara city, which is far from Kathamandu and separates the domestic and International terminals – Now, the new airport provides a major boost to tourism.
Pokhara Regional International Airport is one of the three new Internationals being- built in the country. Currently, Nepal has only one international gateway in Kathmandu.
As per Mr. Adhikari, Pokhara need more technical examination due to its location in the valley. It is accurate and reliable, and wide-area multilateration that to be installed in the mountainous territory and its expense is less than secondary surveillance radar.
As per the agreement, the outworking is needed to complete the project on July 10, 2022. The new airport will construct at Chinnedanda, which is 3 km away from the domestic airport. The services coming up at the tourist and commercial hub of Pokhara will serve as the aerial gateway to the Annapurna region, one of Nepal’s major trekking destinations.

Though Pokhara is the most popular tourist destination, the airport facility is limited. Hence the government has decided to build a new airport as soon as possible so that tourists will not face obstacles during their traveling.
